The proposed coal plants will effect real people. Hear are some of their stories:

11-7-08-NM-107 I am very health conscious. I eat right and I exercise every day. I chose to move to Mesquite because the air here was not polluted. I am horrified to learn that I may have to live a few miles downwind of a coal fired power plant. Coal is a dirty energy source that damages the air, water, and our planet. Nevada should use solar, geothermal and wind power and stop building coal plants. They are a think of the past.
Elaine F.

I moved to Mesquite so I could live in a a cleaner environment. I also feel the process of coal mining is obsolete. There is no acceptable level of more toxic emissions allowable in an already polluted world. It is a waste to continue burning dirty, old-fashion, out-dated fossil fuels.
Jerry S.

I moved to Mesquite in 2004 because of the clean air, blue skies and wonderful people. We cannot take the chance of losing our clean air and water that Toquop will use.
Diane M.

UTNV-207 I have 18 grandchildren. I want them and their children to inherit a clean world. I want them to be able to breathe pure air.
David B.

Mesquite was my lucky find 12 years ago. You can't beat the clean air of the high desert, days of sunshine and low humidity. The golf courses, new neighbors and desert activities are top notch.
The Toquop coal plant is not an acceptable option for our area. Solar, wind, and other options would be better. Let's stop coal plants for energy so we can enjoy what we have.
Just say NO to coal!

Bob S.

The area selected for the construction site is inappropriate since it is located in an area which lacks the water resources required by coal fired plants. In addition, any of these by-products are in close proximity to a major wash that drains into the Virgin River which is now likely to be part of our water (drinking water) supply. I retired in this area because of the lack of pollution.
